BRIDGEPORT - A family was displaced from its second floor Bond Street apartment after a porch fire heavily damaged it Monday evening. They are staying with relatives, said Assistant Fire Chief William Haug. The fire broke out at 328 Bond St. at 7:48 p.m., and was under control by 8:13 p.m. Haug said. The fire started on the porch and extended into two rooms and into an adjoining second-floor apartment, he said. A first-floor occupant burned her hand, and a second floor occupants suffered minor injuries, according to Haug. The cause is under investigation but does not appear suspicious, the assistant chief said.
