A working bedroom fire in an occupied 3-story frame heavily damaged the third floor apartment. Flames blowing out the bedroom window extended up into the soffit and threatened to take the attic but after the main body of fire was knocked down, crews were able to direct water into the attic from below and finish off the job. The Salvation Army provided donuts and beverages.
