FCC hadn't even finished dispatching the initial 2+1+1 when the extra companies were added bringing a full assignment to this midtown address. A gigantic column of smoke visible for miles fortold the story. Battalion 1 gave a first report of heavy fire from the A and B sides of an occupied duplex. One big line and several 1-3/4 lines pounded the fire into submission and the department did not have to resort to master streams. The fire was contained to the left side of the structure and the right side interior suffered only minor smoke and water damage.
