Fire on the second floor of a 4-story vacant office building formerly used by the now-defunct Bridgeport Brass Co.
From the Connecticut Post:
Man, woman injured in blaze
A half-naked woman was rescued by firefighters from a blaze in the Bushwick Steel building, on North Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, after a fire she and her boyfriend had set to keep warm got out of control early Sunday. The police officer, who spotted flames and smoke coming from the building, encountered a burned man, identified as Clarence Hannah, 58, crawling out of a bush. Hannah, who had escaped the fire was yelling his girlfriend was trapped inside the burning building, according to police. Henritta Labella, 44, of Bridgeport, wearing just a sweat shirt and no pants, was rescued by firefighters at 2:30 a.m. while they battled the fire in a storage area on the building's second floor, police said. Police said Hannah and Labella, described as "homeless," started a fire to keep warm in an abandoned section of the former factory building and it grew out of control. Hannah, with burns on his hands, the top of his head and left leg, and Labella, with various burns and cuts, received treatment at Bridgeport Hospital. They were charged with third-degree arson, second-degree burglary and first-degree mischief and held in lieu of $10,000 bond each.
